son of Charles N. ACKLEY and Mary BOGAN, born 6 December 1920 in Camden, New Jersey, died 26 February 2008 in Northridge, California and buried 29 February 2008 at Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, California.

Arthur married Dorothy REED , daughter of Nelson REED and Viola SMITH . Dorothy was born on 14 Nov 1930 in Camden, New Jersey, died on 23 Oct 2004 in Simi Valley, California, at age 73, and was buried on 28 Oct 2004 in Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, California. Arthur also served as an able-bodied seaman on the tanker MS Texas Sun during WWII. His memorial site can be viewed at: Merchant Marine Memorial
